Eric’s 2024 Athens to Zagreb Trip

Varaždin has some angel trope going on. It has a Museum of Angels (not pictured) and angels here and there around town.

On the bus trip back, we stopped for lunch at a winery, which included the bread roll whose recipe is in the art below, and then returned to Zagreb. I had just enough time to hustle over to the Chocolate Museum on public transit to return their locker key.

Most of the people I encountered in Croatia spoke very good English with minimal accent. Of course, when traveling as a tourist, most encounters are with people in tourist service roles, but, even so, their English was better than in many other countries I have visited.

There was some public art with these abbreviated recipes. I will have to try one sometime.

There was also some graffiti (not shown) complaining that the official art was not good. But the quality of the graffiti did not make a good case for its artist being any better.

There were a number of metal plates in the street. I do not know their purpose, whether they mark notably contributions to the down, history, or paid ads. Some may be access covers.
